Young boy riding scooter seriously injured in car collision in Sydney

The 11yo was rushed to the hospital with serious head injuries.

An 11-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being hit by a car while riding his scooter in Sydney. 

Emergency services were called to McMahon Gr in Glenwood at 4.40pm on Wednesday following reports of a young boy being hit by a car.

Boy seriously injured in scooter crash

The 11yo was riding his scooter in Sydney’s northwest when he collided with a red Corolla, NSW Police reported. 

The boy reportedly suffered serious head injuries as a result of the crash, per 7News

It is not known whether the boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. 

The 11yo was rushed to the Children’s Hospital in Westmead, where he remains in stable condition.

The driver of the red Corolla, a 39-year-old woman, was not injured in the collision.

Following the crash, the driver was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a negative result.
