Two shoppers have been left “stunned” after they claimed to hear “porn-like moaning” playing through speakers at a Kmart in New Zealand.
Marie Waring told the NZ Herald she was browsing the store in Tauranga, about 150km southwest of Auckland, with her partner when they heard the sounds on Sunday afternoon.
“I heard the sound of soft female moaning coming from somewhere, then it stopped,” she claims.

Marie’s partner also confirmed he’d heard the noise, and another “horrified” nearby customer confirmed her ears weren’t playing tricks.

When they went through the checkout, Marie said she asked one of the staff members, “What was with the porn playing over the speaker?”
The staff member allegedly told Marie they “weren’t sure how that happened”.
“I walked out with various items I didn’t need and a free porn soundtrack,” Marie told the NZ Herald.

“Lady at the checkout said they don’t know how it happened. Around 2-3pm.
