Sky News reports his family then raised more than $100,000 to get him on a medivac flight from Bali to Sydney, where he was then flown to Nepean Hospital in Penrith.

Tragically, the family provided an update on Kevin’s condition on his GoFundMe on Wednesday.

“Our hearts are broken today as Kevin has officially been pronounced as brain dead,” his mother-in-law Jodie French wrote.

“The doctors have done all relevant testing over the last few days. This has been a distressing experience for all of us.”

"They just hit a bump in the road"

Sky News reports Kevin’s pregnant wife Leah and his family are now faced with the decision of when to turn off his life support.

Leah had previously told the Daily Mail Kevin “wasn’t doing anything silly or drinking” at the time of the crash.

"He and his friend just hit a bump in the road four minutes away from where they were meant to be," she said.

“I tried to get him travel insurance that would cover scooters, but there was nothing.”
