Neighbours are notorious for leaving snarky notes to new parents struggling to get their babies to settle.
So when a Western Australia-based mum found a letter and a package on her doorstep, she didn’t know what to expect.
Amy had just given birth to her baby, who had recently been restless late at night, waking up the neighbours with their cries.
While she may have thought her neighbour was furious about her baby’s tears, she was shocked by what she read.

“We know how tough the early days are!”
“Hey, we are your neighbours from behind you to the left,” read the note.
“We have heard your little bub crying a few times and thought we would drop off some nappies and wipes, as we know how tough the early days are!”
“We hope this brightens your day xoxo,” the letter finished.
If the kind-hearted letter wasn’t enough, the neighbours had also left the parents a bundle of baby products on their front door.
Safe to say the WA mum was touched. “Our neighbours left this note at our front door along with some nappies and wipes,” she wrote on social media.
“Thank you for your kindness and being patient with the noise of a crying newborn!”

“More people should be neighbours like this”
Speaking to Daily Mail, Amy’s baby had been restless the past few weeks, which has caused plenty of sleepless nights.
“We were worried about keeping the neighbours awake, but it’s warming to know that some people understand the nighttime struggle,” she said. “A lot of parents have it harder than we do, so we are grateful for the kind gesture and plan to pay it forward.”
Other parents on Facebook were quick to praise the neighbour’s kind actions.
“What wonderful neighbours to have. That brought tears to my eyes,” one fan wrote. “More people should be neighbours like this,” said another.
“What a beautiful thing to do,” said a third. “Having a newborn is tough work, and any support or kind gesture means the world at that time.”
Other mums who experienced kindness from a stranger shared their stories as well.
“50 years ago, my baby daughter was born in a small Central Queensland town,” a woman recalled. “I also had a 21-month-old son, still in nappies, to also look after and no family or friends nearby.
She explained she had a “fairly good supply” of cloth nappies, but she “really struggled” to get the nappies dry after a bad bout of wet weather.
“Suddenly, a neighbour from across the road appeared at my door with a pile of dry, folded nappies,” she wrote.
“Her five children were all well past the nappy stage, but she still had them stored away. What an angel. I had never been so grateful in my life before, and not since, either. I have forgotten her name, but I still remember her with sheer gratitude.”
