'My husband slept with another woman while I was pregnant'

A woman has revealed how she and her hubby have had an open relationship for the past 14 years.

Danielle insisted she was happy to let her hubby see other women - even while she was pregnant.

"Monogamy is not the point of a relationship," Danielle told her 179,000 followers on TikTok.

"My husband and I are in a non-monogamous relationship; we have been for 14 years."

"I did feel hurt initially"

Speaking to Newsweek, Danielle revealed it was her husband's idea to "date casually" outside of their relationship.

"I will confess, I did feel hurt when Rich [her husband] initially asked if I wanted to be in a non-monogamous relationship," Danielle admitted.

"I had never even heard of it. But he wanted to ensure we would be together for a long time as we had an instant connection."

Danielle, who also shares her relationship on social media, added that she had just two rules for her husband, Rich, to follow.

Those were that he couldn't get with friends of friends and that nothing would happen inside the family home.

And it seems that the unique relationship is working for both of them as Danielle has also begun seeing other people.

"It gives me energy and joy"

In a clip on TikTok, she revealed she was off in Hawaii meeting a lover for a vacation.

She addressed exactly what she tells her kids when she or her husband are away dating other people.

Danielle said they just tell the kids that mum and dad are going away for a few nights and make sure to bring them back a present from their trip.

"Travelling like this gives me energy and joy, it's an escape," she added.

Neither she nor Rich go into details on what they're going away for.

"I'm just curious how this will affect the children"

Her video has since gone viral on her TikTok account @openlycommitted and many took to the comments to share their thoughts.

One person wrote: "I’m just curious how this will affect the children long-term or if it will."

Another commented: "I love hearing about different relationship dynamics, not sure why everyone is projecting their morals on someone else’s life."

Meanwhile a third said: "These comments are brutal. As someone that has always done well with monogamy, it's so interesting and helpful to hear other perspectives!"

"Just think about WHY you don't tell your kids you're going with someone else.. Hmm, why,” claimed a fourth.

"I tell my kids that I’m travelling with a friend—I don’t give more details because they are 6 and 9 and it doesn’t feel age appropriate," Danielle replied.
