My daughter can be a Stay At Home Mum if she wants to

"I'm teaching my little girl to live a slow life, to be a biblical woman that wants a husband and a beautiful family that she can serve daily."

If you're privileged, you can choose what kind of woman and mum you want to be, and teach your kids they have choices, too.

But one mum on the internet this week has been blasted for her choices, and how she's parenting her daughter.

Jasmine Dinis proudly declared in a viral TikTok her vision for her girl: "Serving her husband and bearing children will be her greatest joy."

And although she has a right to do what she wants with her family and in her own home, it made a lot of people uncomfortable.

"Perfectly acceptable to depend on a man"

In a clip on her @jasminedinis2 account, Jasmine shared her controversial parenting approach.

The mum said: "I'm teaching my daughter that it's perfectly acceptable to depend on a man.

"That being a homemaker is the number 1 career she should strive for, and that serving her husband and bearing children will be her greatest joy."

Jasmine has 41,000 followers on her account, where she advocates for "traditional motherhood and marriage."

She continues in the caption: "In a world full of women teaching their children that their only goal is to go to university, get a good job and make money, I'm teaching my little girl to live a slow life, to be a biblical woman that wants a husband and a beautiful family that she can serve daily.

"That joy comes from God and family, not from a career."

"Glad my mum did the opposite"

Jasmine uses the hashtag #tradwife, which has been viewed 256 million times - so it's definitely a concept that has caught the internet's attention.

But many commenters on her TikTok - which has had more than a million views - were worried about her daughter's future.

"What if her husband leaves her and she is left with no education no work experience, no money," wrote one.

"The whole romanticization of the tradwife will eventually set us back a 100 years," said another.

Others expressed their gratitude that their parents raised them with a more practical approach in terms of skills, with one writing, "I'm happy my DAD taught me that I wasn't born to serve no man," and another adding, "Glad my mum did the opposite."

And this woman heartbreakingly shared, "I held my mum as she cried because she couldn't leave her abusive breadwinner husband. She asked me to promise her I'd get an education and a career."

But there were also many who supported Jasmine's parenting and values.

"This is a beautiful learning experience for your daughter, many don't get. There is no book or job that can teach you the true meaning of life," commented one viewer.

There was also much encouragement about choice: "Teach your kids all the skills and let them decide what they want later on."

Finally, this woman noted: "This is a valid way to live her life, but don't forget to tell her that there are a thousand different paths that she can take."
