Veronica has 13 kids and needed to find a bigger space to accommodate them all.

Located in the US, the family was living in an admittedly “crappy little house”, but as a single mum, she couldn’t afford to get something larger

So when her daughter offered to help out, she took the chance.

I have 12 kids and my daughter helped pay for our house

Daughter pitched in to help mum buy a nine-bedroom house

Taking to TikTok, 38-year-old Veronica often shares what life looks like for a mum-of-13.

She has 13 kids, Victoria, Andrew, Adam, Mara, Dash, Darla, Marvelous, Martalya, Amelia, Delilah, Donovan, Modi and Millipede.

In a recent video, she responded to a comment that she “gets frequently.” The comment in question read: “Literally so sad that your kids literally have to help pay [for] the house.”

Wanting to “address” the common question, she explained that her family was originally living in a “crappy little house”, which couldn’t accommodate for the large family.

“So our nine-bedroom house was USD$20,000 (AUD$29,380),” the American explained. “My oldest daughter pitched in half with a combination of, you know, savings, tax return, stimulus, whatever.”

Veronica clarified that the two combined their money to purchase the property.

“After about a year, I paid her back in full,” she added.

“You can’t make me feel bad for borrowing money from my daughter”

Veronica then revealed that her daughter lives with the family “rent-free” but will still keep up with chores around the house.

“I take care of her, I cook for her, she helps sometimes with, like, dishes, but it's been completely beneficial to her,” the mum-of-13 added. “Sometimes my daughter’s boyfriend pitches in on utilities.”

Adding to the comment left by the confused follower, she explained that she doesn’t feel bad for asking her daughter for help.

“You’re not going to make me feel bad for borrowing money from my daughter,” she asserted.

“I think I should feel bad for you because you don't have a family that believes in supporting each other and being there for each other and helping each other,” she said.

“Family looks out for each other”

Online, the video amassed over 159,000 views. Amongst the comments were fans wondering how she managed to find such an inexpensive property.

“How did you buy a nine-bedroom house for $20k is the more important question,” laughed one person.

The mum explained that she searched for a house on Craigslist and got lucky when the nine-bedroom property was available.

“Was $20,000 the down payment?” one person queried. “I paid in full,” she responded.

A wave of positive comments flooded the video, supporting the daughter’s decision to help her mum buy a house.

“Honestly, this is so smart,” wrote one person. “Good for you all!” added another. “I’m proud of all of you for pitching in and finding your paradise!”

“Even if she didn’t pay you back, it’s fine [that] she lives there rent-free, and it’s your business,” said a supporter.

“I help my mum out all the time,” chimed in another. “That’s what family is for!”

“I see nothing wrong with this,” a person added. “Family looks out for each other!”
