I let my six-year-old tattoo me and I’d do it again - it’s a total masterpiece

“I loved every second of it,” the proud dad gushed in the video. “I give her the freedom to learn, even if it ends up hurting me a bit more.”

Wesley isn’t afraid of a little ink.

As a tattoo artist, the American dad’s body is a canvas, covered head to toe in creative designs and hours of work.

But it wasn’t enough, so he asked someone special to help design his next piece - his six-year-old daughter, Adeline.

Dad lets 6yo daughter give him a tattoo

Dad lets his 6yo tattoo a heart onto his calf

The doting father asked his daughter to draw a heart, and she sketched the adorable design onto a piece of stencil paper which was later transferred to his calf.

She smiled at the camera with joy, but she wasn’t done yet.

“My six-year-old tattooed me today!” the clip caption read.

The little girl held the tattoo machine in her hand, stretching out the skin as she completed the first pass over his skin.

The heart appeared adorably squiggly, crossing over the lines of the initial stencil. But that was part of its charm.

“A masterpiece!” he exclaimed, showing off the final result.

“My six-year-old tattooed me today!”

In a later video, Wesley returned to the tattoo parlour; his daughter’s artistic talents were yet to be fully realised.

“So today I'm going in and letting Adeline see what the tattoo looks like and how it healed out, and possibly get a touch-up,” he said to the camera.

He approached his daughter, who was comically sitting at the reception desk with a piece of paper, intently scribbling hearts with a pencil.

“Wanna see how the tattoo healed out?” he asked her as she nodded in agreement.

“It looks really good!” he beamed, showing off his calf tattoo. “But would you wanna do a touch-up for me?”

She was back in the artist’s chair in a flash, gloves ready and the tattoo machine in her hand. “Alright, you ready?” her dad asks as she smiles nervously.

She repeated the same lines over and over, making the initial design thicker.

“So, Adeline, what think about it?” he asked his daughter. “It looks good,” she said in reply.

“Good job!” he praised her before offering a trip to the ice cream parlour as a way to say thanks for the art. But Adeline turned that offer down, instead opting for a toy.

“You want a toy?” he confirmed. “That works, too.”

In a final clip, he revealed his daughter had tattooed him for a third time, opting to ink a smiley face next to the original design.

“Having such an encouraging parent makes all the difference”

The two clips have garnered over 34 million views, with thousands enamoured with the dad’s ink.

“She’s so excited!” a woman wrote in awe. “Bet she’ll never forget this.” If Adeline ever forgot, Wesley responded, he would “remind her with the tattoo that’s on me forever.”

“As a teacher, I just know she told everyone she came across the next day about this experience,” another laughed. “I love to see it!”

But that didn’t stop others from noticing her technique and how much the tattoo would have hurt.

“That probably hurt so bad,” read a comment. “It's so cute, but damn I can feel the pain,” added another.

Luckily, it didn’t faze Wesley at all. “I loved every second of it,” he said in response. “I give her the freedom to learn, even if it ends up hurting me a bit more.”

A career in tattooing was predicted by some, inspired by her “dedication” and concentration while creating her masterpiece.

But for others, her dad’s words of encouragement were all she needed to succeed. “This little girl is gonna go big places regardless if it's from art or not,” a person shared. “Having such an encouraging parent makes all the difference.”

“The way y’all encouraged her to keep going and didn’t criticise her every move made my eyes mist,” someone wrote.

The Arizona-based dad couldn’t help but agree. “Encouragement goes a long way!”
