The scene police encountered on Saturday in Adelaide’s northeast suburb of Campbelltown was horrific.

A 51-year-old mum was dead, with her 22-year-old daughter suffering from serious gunshot wounds.

Both women were found collapsed in the driveway of the home.

“When patrols arrived, they found a woman deceased at the scene and another 22-year-old woman with serious injuries,” South Australia Police said in a statement.

It was 1:20pm when patrols arrived, but alleged gunman didn’t surrender to police until after 4pm.

The Adelaide Advertiser identified the 51-year-old woman as Aleksandra Vergulis, and police are alleging that her husband, Vasilis Vergulis shot her to death.

It’s also alleged that the man shot his daughter, Daniela. The young woman is in stable condition at Royal Adelaide Hospital.
