Method:
- Remove the glass from the photo frame. We won't be needing this, so you can carefully put it onto your recycling bin.
- Next, take the back board on the frame and paint a background scene. You can do whatever you like! I have chosen to paint a stormy sky over a meadow.
- Once the background is dry, mark out in pencil where you would like your ghost (or ghosts!) to go. Once you are happy with their positions, paint them in! Be as creative as you like here. I painted two ghosts holding hands and a bunch of flowers!
- Now we will work on gilding your frame. Take a large round paint brush and dip it into the gold paint. Dab the brush onto the old towel so there is just a small amount of paint on the end of the brush. Gently sweep the brush around the frame, paying attention to the edges. Use the towel to occasionally rub back some of the paint to give the frame an antique look.
- Now that both your frame and portrait are finished, it is time to put them together and hang!
