Can feelings of hatred actually enrich maternal love?

Have you ever had one of those days where you’re just not loving this whole motherhood thing? It’s not that we’re ungrateful, or that we hate our child, but sometimes you hate being a parent. Today’s guest knows this feeling all too well. Dr Margo Lowy is a psychotherapist with a special interest in maternal ambivalence – an often taboo topic. Margo has a book out which explores this idea. It’s called ‘The Maternal Experience: Encounters with Ambivalence and Love’ and she joins us to explore the idea that moments of hatred can enrich the love for your child.
