IF you thought the Gold Coast couldn’t get anymore glamorous, think again.

Palazzo Versace guests will arrive in style to the five-star hotel after the unveiling of two bespoke Rolls-Royce Phantoms for airport transport and limousine-style hires.

While the price of the custom-made vehicles was not disclosed, the average Phantom model costs just under $1 million.

Rolls Royce Asia Pacific regional director Paul Harris said the cars were created to reflect the hotel experience.

“The brief on the hotel was very much that they are what we call a classic luxury hotel and so they were very keen to carry that into the car,” he said.

“It’s a very clean and simple design and the hotel experience starts straight away when you hop in the car.”

At least 60 people helped build each car, which were revealed five days short of the hotel’s 15th anniversary.

Palazzo Versace Gold Coast general manager Subash Basur said the company wanted the cars to take guests’ breathe away.

“(The hotel) is the world-class icon on the Gold Coast where dreams become reality ... and my dream became reality here last Christmas when we talked about acquiring the two phantoms,” he said.

“Today marks a very momentous occasion with two world-class luxury brands coming together in creating unique experiences beyond expectation of our guests.”

Discussions are still underway as to when and how the cars will be best used with the possibility of guest hiring facilities.
