Nineteen at The Star: Uday Huja takes role as new executive chef
A chef who once plated up food for Barack Obama in the White House will now dish up mouth-watering meals at one of the Gold Coast’s most luxurious restaurants.

UDAY Huja has served some of the world’s most important figures but now he’s taking on a new role plating up for Gold Coasters.
The chef, who comes with more than two decades of experience, has an extensive list of achievements including dishing up the first White House State Dinner for newly-elected US president Barack Obama in 2009.
But Chef Uday will be adding a new achievement to his list after he accepted the executive chef role at Gold Coast’s Nineteen at The Star.

Uday is hoping to bring a new experience to the Broadbeach rooftop venue.
“It’s no secret the Gold Coast is growing as a city and as a food destination,” he said.
“There is a strong demand across Australia for great food and an expectation now for an exceptional overall dining experience.

“In my opinion, food is only one part of the show, it’s the overall restaurant experience that guests remember.
“My goal over time is to meet everyone that walks into this restaurant.
“I want people to know that when they come to Nineteen at The Star, they will feel like part of the family here.

Chef Uday made the move to the Gold Coast after working with the The Star Entertainment Group in Sydney.
Uday takes the reigns from head chef Kelvin Andrews, who helped open the rooftop restaurant in March 2018.
