An anonymous resident sent the threatening letter, but when someone came forward to take ownership, things took a strange turn.

A mum has been left shocked after receiving a 'final warning' from a neighbour about her dog's loud barking.

Brisbane local Davina Simona says an anonymous resident of her apartment complex placed a threatening note under her door last week, as per The Daily Mail.

Simona also said she received yet another letter in the same handwriting on the weekend with even more complaints.

"Stupid brainless mutts"

"If you insist on having dogs (especially a big one) in a unit the size of a large toilet – get the stupid brainless mutts a barking collar each and have a bit of consideration for others," the first note, written in capital letters, read.

"Dogs need a yard!" the person insisted.

And the second called her an "XL bully" and her mini daschunds, "mongrels."

They also said it was her "last warning" to get her pets under control or else "get reported to authorities."

Simona told The Mail that she had "no idea" who was behind the nasty letters as everyone she knows in the building "loves our doggos."

She also said that she's made multiple attempts to stop her dogs from barking and disturbing her neighbours, including using anti-bark collars when she's not home.

"Walking on eggshells"

Frustrated, she took to a local Facebook group to share her concerns over the letter, and much to her surprise, someone reached out to her saying they knew who had written it.

A local had claimed that it was her grandfather, which confused Simona as she had never had any issues with an older man in her building before.

"You've taken to Facebook to threaten an old man who does not use Facebook with your stupid big dogs and those little dachshunds, and the crying child all the time," the angry woman wrote.

"I know all about your backyard and where you live."

Simona said she doesn't want to feel like she's "walking on eggshells" in her own home anymore and "just wants to get to the bottom" of the issue.
