Mum cops threatening note on car after 'blocking' driveway

But was she really?! People can't decide.

Melbourne parking madness

A mum, after parking her car close to a driveway, found herself at the receiving end of a threatening note that was left on her windshield by a disgruntled homeowner.

The incident, which she shared on a local Melbourne mum's Facebook group, has sparked a range of opinions online, raising questions about proper parking etiquette in suburban streets.

The threatening note about "blocking" a driveway

The mum shared a photo (above) of how she parked her car and asked the group, "Was I blocking this driveway?"

Her car can be seen parked right next to the driveway but her bumper wasn't clearly obstructing it.

However, the note she found on her car painted a different picture.

It read: "Next time you block our driveway, I will deflate all your tyres."

Opinions flooded in from fellow Melbournians, with one person pointing out, "Technically no but you’re definitely too close. Could make it difficult for them to get out being right up to the edge of it like that."

And this person agreed, saying, "Technically no but still a d*ck place to park. Can guarantee in my long car I would struggle to miss hitting this and let's not forget about the blind spot you're causing."

Then another chimed in, "You’re not blocking but you’re definitely obstructing. It's a fine line."

"Aggressive much?"

Another user pointed out the irony of the note, saying, "Wouldn’t deflating all your tyres make it more difficult for this person because your car would be there permanently? People are so entitled."

Meanwhile, others came out to defend the mum. "You didn’t do anything wrong. Aggressive much? This person was clearly having a bad day."

And a different mum reasoned, "Yes you're too close but gee whiz, someone needs to take a chill pill."

"That's a little extreme," commented another user.

And this woman shared that her partner parks like that all the time outside their house and she's "never had an issue getting into our driveway."

And some words of advice were shared by this mum, who suggested: "Write back thanks for the note… I know where you live and if anything happens to me or my car you will be the first suspect, I don’t take threats kindly nor do the police. Hope you have a lovely day."
