A family-owned gelato bar in Burleigh is celebrating after its ice cream was named Best on The Gold Coast by Bulletin readers.

A family-owned gelato bar in Burleigh is celebrating after its ice cream was named Best on The Gold Coast by Bulletin readers.

Scoop Gelati co-owner of Cameron Murphy said they are thrilled to get the recognition.

“A huge thank you to all of our customers who have been so supportive,” Mr Murphy said.

Mr Murphy said he is proud of his wife, Jennifer, their two kids and team of 15 for their work in building the shop’s stellar reputation.

“Our mantra at the shop is to always ensure the best possible handmade gelato,” Mr Murphy said.

“We believe our customers really do appreciate the difference and quality of our gelato, so the extra effort is worth it.”

Scoop Gelati usually have around 24 gelato recipes on display.

“Vegan and dairy free options are also available, our dark chocolate sorbet is hugely popular with vegans and omnivores alike,” he said.

Mr and Mrs Murphy said they are on the hunt for another location to expand their business.Mr Murphy said it will be hard to find another place like Burleigh.

“Burleigh is fantastic, it’s perfect during the day and we have great restaurants around us, so it has great night trade too,” he said.
