The founder of the hugely popular Pacific Airshow and his wife loved the Gold Coast so much they have named their child after the city.
Kevin and Jane Elliott this week welcomed their daughter Goldie into the world in Huntington Beach, California where they are based.
Goldie is the couple’s second child and joins her older brother Jett who is nearly two years old.
They are already planning their next trip back to the Glitter Strip, where their daughter was conceived during last year’s airshow in August.
“Jane and I are delighted to introduce Goldie Jane to the world. Both of my girls are perfectly healthy in every way,” Mr Elliott said.
“I can’t wait to get the fam back to Oz.
“It’s only been a few hours and we have been overwhelmed by so many well-wishes.”
The inaugural airshow, held in August 2023, drew 250,000 people to Surfers Paradise inundating the tourism hub and injected $25m into the economy.
Accommodation providers recorded 110,000 visitor nights during the event. It will be held this year from August 16-18.
