The Hembrow sisters have gone on to build a successful empire in the fitness and beauty industry, boasting a combined social media following of more than 15 million.

But if there’s one thing you won’t catch the four famous sisters doing, it’s reading what people have to say about them.

“I don’t read any comments on Facebook or anything,” Amy, 31, tells news.com.au.

“If any articles get posted I don’t read the comments ever. People can be so nasty and it’s just not worth it.”

The mother-of-one, who revealed she is 12 weeks pregnant with her second child to husband Rory Carmody, said her fitness star sister, Tammy, 27, warned her to “never” read the comments section.

“Because Tammy is so much bigger in a media sense, I learned a lot from her,” she said.

“Originally I was never in the media and when I went to places with her, if she was photographed I would be posted.

“I would start to read the comments and let it get to me and she would be like ‘what are you doing? You don’t read the comments’ and I’d get really upset and she’d be like ‘these people don’t know you, don't worry about it’.

“Tammy has very thick skin and I have learned a lot from her.”

Tammy, 27, was the first of the sisters to join photo-sharing app Instagram when at age 19 she began documenting her pregnancy with first child Wolf.

She found great success with it after finding people responded to her fitness and pregnancy posts and began to work with brands.

The mother-of-two, who is also pregnant with her third child, then encouraged her sisters, Amy, 31, Emiliee, 30 and Star 21, to join.

Amy said her followers began to spike after people realised she was sisters with Tammy — however her approach to the platform was different.

“What I did see was an opportunity for marketing and business — and so I have worked a lot on building our businesses’ social media pages like Tammy Fit and SSkin.”

The eldest sister is the co-founder of Tammy’s hugely successful fitness app, Tammy Fit, helped launch her clothing line Saskia, and more recently opened cosmetic clinic SSkin on the Gold Coast with younger sister Emilee.

“We absolutely fight,” she laughed when talking about working with mother-of-three, Emilee.

“There was teething at the beginning when we were both figuring out our roles, but now we’re at the point where it works really seamlessly.”

Amy, who has a degree in business and marketing, said the duo had their best month in March since opening the business in August 2020.

“We were the most booked out we have ever been and the made the most money we have made which is really amazing to see that progression,” she said.

“With the pandemic we really had to pivot quite a few times so it’s really nice to see all our processes really working and paying off.”

The business woman, who is working with Best & Less this Mother’s Day on their campaign to celebrate all mums, said when it comes to balancing work and home life, it comes down to one thing — “setting boundaries”.

“Before I had Aurora (now two) I was available 24/7 to my team and everyone was texting me at all house, but I’ve just implemented some strategies that unless it’s urgent, send me an email and I’ll get to it within work hours,” she said.

“I really value that family time and that ‘me’ time,” adding that she loves fictional books. . “I love spending time with my family — my sisters — we all get together at my mum’s house and just hang out. It happens at least once a week, we are all really close.”

This time around, Amy said she will be taking longer maternity leave when she gives birth in October.

“Because of the pandemic we had to put a lot of our business plans on hold. We were originally going to launch the clinic before I had Aurora, but we ended up launching after and I had to go to work after three weeks of having her. It was full on.”

Amy said it has been really nice having sister Tammy, who is due in six weeks, pregnant at the same time — and thankfully, has been feeling “great”.

“I feel lucky because with my first pregnancy I was super sick but this time I have been cruising,” Amy said.
