Influencer reveals horror encounter on her daily walk - and has a message for women

An influencer has taken to social media to share what happened to her on a walk in broad daylight that left her shocked.

A contestant on 10’s The Bachelors has revealed she was sexually assaulted in broad daylight.

Ellie Rolfe, 30, was on a morning walk when a man who looked around her age rode past her on his bike and said hello.

She acknowledged him politely in return.

“Then he followed me around the block twice and circled back and rode up behind me and fully groped my ass,” she explained to her Instagram followers.

“It knocked my phone out of my hand because it gave me such a fright, and I looked up, and he just zoomed off on his bike.”

The Western Australian local said the experience left her with “no words” and said that while she was a huge advocate for mental health and the idea that you never know what is going on with someone, she was horrified by the “disrespect” and how “scary” the incident was. 

“Not even safe on a bloody morning work in broad daylight. It is never okay to inappropriately touch anyone without consent. Shocked,” she said.

Rolfe added that she wasn’t someone that used social media to share her political views or virtual signal, but she wanted to share the experience because it really “pissed” her off.

Rolfe was on last year’s season of The Bachelors and ended up with former rugby league star Luke Bateman who played for the Canberra Raiders.

During the finale of The Bachelors, which aired on December 20, Bateman chose Rolfe over his runner-up, Lana, and told her he had fallen in love with her.

Rolfe posted on Instagram that their love story proves that if you believe in magic, you’ll find it. 

“Worth the 29-year-long journey to my perfect fairy-tale with you,” she wrote. 

In March, the pair called things off despite appearing on The Project and revealing they’d gotten matching tattoos in December 2023.

“Went out to lunch, had a few cocktails, got a bit excited, and thought it would be a good idea to get matching tattoos,” she said.

Bateman confirmed their love story had ended to Yahoo but spoke incredibly highly of Rolfe.

“Ellie and I have separated and would like to keep our relationship private. Ellie has a soul that lights up every room she walks into, and I will sorely miss it in my life,” he said.
