‘Imagine if Harry Potter ended like this’: TikTok fan theory goes viral

No. No. No. Die-hard fans are having none of it!

Rule number one: Don't ever mess with the emotions of die-hard Harry Potter fans. They're still struggling with Cedric getting killed off so suddenly and let's not even get into Malfoy's redemption arc scene getting cut. 

So it comes as no surprise to us that a new fan theory doing the rounds on TikTok has not only blown the Muggle minds of HP fans but has also left them absolutely furious!

"It's in your head Harry!"

Potterhead @harrypotter9340 has caused a huge stir online after sharing a clip on TikTok that proposes a possible way the popular book and movie franchise could've ended. 

"Imagine if Harry Potter ended like this," they wrote on the post, which has now racked up an impressive 3.3 million views. 

The viral footage shows the iconic end scene of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, where Harry defeats Lord Voldemort in a final battle at Hogwarts and snaps the powerful Elder Wand in two with Hermione and Ron looking on in disbelief. 

The next scene then shows Harry lying in bed, having just woken up by his Aunt Petunia who is banging on the staircase door, hinting that the whole thing was JUST A DREAM.

If this is to be believed, anything beyond Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone didn't actually happen. 

"Of course it’s in your head Harry," a further caption read.

Nope! We're having none of that!

While the clip has been insanely popular, fans are definitely not getting on board with this theory. 

Many claimed that if this was ever to be the ending, then they would definitely not have coped. 

"I would have died if that happened," one fan commented. 

"Fans would have rioted in the streets," another added. 

And others echoed: "I'd have an existential crisis" and "This made me rethink my entire life."

While people claimed they'd be sobbing if this ended happened, others were suggesting other ways the much-loved franchise could've ended. 

"Plot twist: Harry hallucinated everything to escape the years of his aunt and uncle's abuse," one fan put forward. 

And another suggested: "No what if he woke up in his parents' house with them alive and it was all just a fever dream."

Now that theory we just might be OK with.
