5 game-changing Kmart hacks

A thrifty mum has wowed people with her ‘genius’ transformation on the front steps of her home using $26 tiles from Kmart.

Facebook user Barb Arella posted to a group an impressive side-by-side photograph of her steps before and after the transformation.

Before the renovation, the steps were concrete with peeling paint.

But she used the Kmart tiles, some pieces of timber and a few potted plants to make the space unrecognisable.

“These steps have always been a thorn in my side” the NSW mum wrote on her post.

“They aren’t perfect, but they are perfect for me. Thank you Kmart.”

Barb added that she was elated with her Kmart renovation, stating that her old steps left her “embarrassed” but now she was proud to have people over as they look so “fresh and clean”.

The post was met with praise, racking up nearly 7000 likes and hundreds of comments in a matter of hours.

“Oh wow, great job there – it looks so much better and so inviting,” one person commented.

“I’d have a cuppa in there no sweat.”

“Amazing! Gone from overworked, old, unloved and feral, to loved, pristine and awesome,” another said.

“You must be so happy!”

“I’m going to Kmart tomorrow to grab these for my garden,” another wrote. “What a fantastic idea!”
