IF you’re one of the thousands of people who has been forced to wait for a table at the bustling Elk Espresso, good news.
The new Elk Espresso’s location was today announced, on the exterior of the Oasis Shopping Centre, and it has 30 per cent more seating than the original on Chelsea Avenue.

Owner Andrew Whiting said this spot, which overlooks Kurrawa Park and the ocean, is better than what he and wife Jodie expected.
“We have searched high and low for the right location and space that is just for us,” Mr Whiting said.
“We agreed we want and need bigger, but not too big.
“We were negotiating on a few that we felt were just ‘OK’ until I was taken to this new site that hasn’t had anyone in it before.
“As soon as I walked in I knew it was perfect and felt like Elk could grow for the next decade.”
Elk was forced to find a new home after its existing location was expected to make way for a 27-storey high-rise.
If Mr Whiting’s optimism is anything to go by, their eviction could be a blessing in disguise as Elk’s new home, tipped to open early December, will feature a number of upgrades in addition to the extra seating.
“The new design fitout is still Elk,” Mr Whiting said.
“We have taken elements that are so ‘us’ and injected with some new features and a whole new space.
“We have added two of the latest La Marzocco Stradas coffee machines to handle the caffeine demand, with one for solely takeaway customers.
“A high concrete ceiling has given us the opportunity to play with seating levels and areas too.”
There will only be “a few days” crossover where Elk will not be available to the public in either location to allow staff to find their feet in the new space.
Oasis centre manager Rosalind Blandford said they were “delighted” Elk would be calling their Broadbeach mall home from December.
“We’re delighted Elk has chosen to relocate their iconic cafe to The Oasis,” she said.
“They are a perfect addition to our newly redeveloped dining precinct and I have no doubt their loyal customers will love coming to their new home to when they open later this year”.
Elk Espresso garnered plenty of local and worldwide buzz with A-list regulars including Orlando Bloom, Margot Robbie, Javier Bardem and more.
