‘Heartbroken’: Ballina model Emily Finberg suddenly dies aged 30
A northern NSW community is in mourning after the sudden death of model and truck driver Emily Finberg, aged 30.

A “radiant” model has died aged 30, leaving family and friends devastated.
Emily ‘Emmy’ Finberg, from Ballina in the Northern Rivers region, died on January 2, according to a GoFundMe organised by Jasmin Pearl Miller on behalf of her friends and family to cover funeral costs.
Relatives have requested Ms Finberg’s death be addressed as an accident.
“Our beautiful Emmy left us for the heavens on January 2, 2025, leaving behind a world that is undeniably less bright without her radiant presence,” the GoFundMe read.
“She was a force of nature – hilarious, vibrant, and endlessly kind. Emmy had a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved, lighting up every room with her infectious energy and laughter. There was no one like Emmy. Nor will there ever be anyone like Emmy.”
“Her love for animals, especially her beloved fur baby, Chopper, was unmatched,” it continued.
“She cherished life, friends, family, and all creatures great and small.
“We are heartbroken, and as we navigate this difficult time, we’re reaching out to Emmy’s friends, and anyone whose life she touched to help us give her the farewell she deserves, in true EMMY (sic) fashion!”
Ms Finberg, who was a member of the Mullumbimby Pony Club, most recently worked as a truck driver for cement company Boral.
A tribute group has also been set up on Facebook, where Ms Finberg has been remembered as “fierce, funny, kind & genuine”.
Aviva Finberg, Ms Finberg’s aunt, said her niece was “the most feminine truck driver ever to grace this earth”, and “the boldest, bravest person I will ever know”.
“We spent the weekend together recently and she hugged me and held me so tight for so long,” she wrote.
“I will always remember her (saying), ‘Can I have another Amaretto Sour please’ at Capiche in Ballina. So ladylike. As if we were on the French Riviera.
“She used to say ‘I love you forever’. Well this is forever, now, my darling girl.”
