Tiffiny Hall reveals family forced to stage an ‘intervention’

The former Biggest Loser coach has revealed she was in denial about her struggling health, prompting husband Ed to stage an “intervention”.

Tiffiny Hall opens up about struggle with chronic illness

Tiffiny Hall has recalled how her family was forced to stage an “intervention” after she became so burnt out while filming as many as 50 workout videos a day.

The personal trainer and health influencer has opened up about her health struggles, which became so severe she even considered walking away from her fitness empire, she revealed on the Ash London Podcast.

Tiff revealed earlier this year she had been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) – a blood pressure condition which in her case is genetic.

The conditions have forced the former Biggest Loser trainer to seriously scale back, with Tiff revealing last month she now only trains about 10 minutes per day.

Tiff, who is married to comedian Ed Kavalee, told podcast host London how she “fell apart” following the birth of her son Arnold in 2017.

She threw herself back into working on her fitness and wellness business, only taking a break when she was looking after her son.

“I really thought I could do it all, even when I was six months in a post-partum body. I was filming 40, 50 workout videos a day,” Tiff said.

“My Mum would drive Arnold to me for breastfeeds, [I would quickly breastfeed him – that was my break … I didn’t even give myself breaks.

“My break was feeding a child and chugging water and getting back out there to present videos.”

Tiff then began working another full-time job on top of her fitness app and her burnout became so severe her family intervened.

“There was an intervention between my Mum, Dad and Ed,” Tiff said.

Tiff had hit the wall after a big shoot left her unable to get out of bed and feeling unwell for weeks.

She at first assumed she just had a virus but after multiple tests came back clear Tiff concluded she was simply burnt out.

“[I was] in denial, you’re thinking I’m just rundown, it’s burnout, whatever,” she said.

“So we ran the gauntlet for a while and then I just still couldn’t drive, I couldn’t function, I couldn’t bath my own child, I couldn’t feed Arnold.

“Mum moved in to do meals and bathing when Ed was at work because I couldn’t get out of bed in the morning … Someone had to be here to wake up to Arnold because I couldn’t get him downstairs.”

Tiff said she was “able to heal myself while running the business by doing it a different way”.

“Definitely it was Ed and my parents coming over and saying, ‘There is no business if there is no Tiffiny,’” she said.

“When they said, ‘You’re not mothering … [Tiff’s] Mum is mothering my child, the grandparents’ … there’s nothing else that matters in this world.”

Tiff and Ed then made the “expensive” decision to buy out her other business partners in TIFFXO, now known as MYTXO so she owns “every bit of the business”.

“Ed supported me every step of the way,” she said.

“I honestly don’t think I’d even be here without Ed because times got so tough I thought, ‘I can’t actually go on.’

“It was really that bad, I thought I was letting everybody down, that I couldn’t be the fitness person.

“I lost my identity … I didn’t even have the energy to make good choices to get well.”
