The founder of a famous Gold Coast retreat – which is part-owned by Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman – has announced he is adding a new “mind-blowing” addition to his health and wellness empire.

Tallebudgera Valley’s Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat founder Tony de Leede said he was excited to announce he was opening Eco View Retreat.

Mr Leede said the $9 million project was a 15-minute drive from Gwinganna on Trees Rd and was created so visitors could host their own retreat.

The new lifestyle area will house 15 villas, five multipurpose treatment rooms, outdoors pools, spas, a yoga fitness studio and more.

“It will be a bit mind-blowing as the property sits at one of the highest points of Tallebudgera,” Mr Leede said.

“The feeling of being immersed in nature and the no stress environment will resonate very quickly.”

Mr Leede said the Eco View concept was “very different” to Gwinganna.

“I believe everyone is far more interested in living longer and better, so retreats for either corporate or fitness blend significant lifestyle elements will be the way of the future,” he said.

Mr Leede said the cost to rent out the entire retreat (15 villas and all the facilities) would start from $6500 a day.

“The person renting the retreat gets to curate everything the way they want it,” he said.

“They essentially get the keys to the exclusive property that has spectacular views. Coupled with the fact we have a list of chefs, lifestyle experts and activity experts.”

Mr Leede said the retreat had been under construction for about 18 months and was due to be finished by the end of the year.

He hoped the Eco View would be open by the start of 2025.

Mr Leede made his name on the Gold Coast after he opened the doors to Gwinganna in 2006, a concept which had not yet been established in the city.

In it’s 18-year reign existence, A-list celebrities, including part-owner Jackman, have frequently visited the wellness centre.

“The Spa Sanctuary at Gwinganna is quite simply world class,” Jackman wrote on the retreat’s website.

“One feels simultaneously immersed in nature and indulgent luxury. The staff at the sanctuary is extraordinary, their expertise and passion is unparalleled. Enjoy.”
