BY the end of this year, Matt Goss of Herbidoor will be delivering more than 1200 containers of plant-based goodness to locals.
The 37-year-old from Pottsville is excited that he will surpass his original target of 1000 orders for his locally-sourced vegan food, which is delivered to your front door in eco-friendly containers.

“My reorder rate is higher than 70 per cent,” he said. “I didn’t think there were that many vegans, and there’s lots of people playing around with the idea.”

But it’s not just any food Mr Goss makes — he sources his fruit and vegetables from a local farming collective, Mate and Matt’s, and his aim is to find that middle ground between healthy eating and comfort food.
“The menu revolves every week to keep their tastebuds dancing,” he said. “I make spaghetti bolognaise, shepherd’s pies... but plant-based. And you get 20 per cent more food than the competition for the same price.”

Mr Goss said he wanted to make the business as eco-friendly as possible and so the containers can be popped in the compost after use.
He delivers to the Gold and Tweed Coasts and residents can order online for weekly deliveries.
