Gold Coast psychic Rose Smith on Covid, border, Scomo, Trump

Sceptic or not, there is no denying that psychic services are a sure thing in these uncertain times. Gold Coast psychic queen Rose Smith tells – and sees – all. HER PREDICTIONS

ROSE Smith closes her eyes and sees a freight train lumbering down the tracks.

Its progress is slow but steady and it labours under its load of cargo as it roars forward.

Rose, the Gold Coast clairvoyant and astrologer who runs the largest psychic network in the southern hemisphere, smiles as she realises the meaning.

“Queensland borders will be open for Christmas,” says the founder of Absolute Soul Secrets.

“The train is in front of me and it’s moving forward. Plus it’s a freight train and that means work, it means our business is getting back on track.”

And when it comes to business, Rose’s is booming.

Sceptic or not, there is no denying that in this era of unprecedented uncertainty, the services of psychics has become a sure thing.

With more than 75 psychics employed in her phone-in business, Rose herself now concentrates on her YouTube livestreams and general astrological predictions rather than personal readings, saying that at the age of 62 she’s become “a bit of a hermit”.

But that doesn’t stop the demand, with the pandemic piquing the need for some sort of control.

“I’ve had people show up at my house wanting a reading, I have people constantly ask me on the livestreams even though I specifically say I’m not doing personal readings, people are just desperate for some certainty right now,” she says.

“I understand that. These are difficult times for everyone.

“Lots of people feel that they are not in control, so they go to a psychic to get tips on how to get into control.

“Any reasonable psychic is going to give you options and advice, and you’re going to make up your own mind which way you’re going to go.

“But I think a lot of what people are also looking for when they contact a psychic is support. People are not feeling supported by society or the government or their religion, and there’s only so many times you can vent and unload to your friends.”

If part of being a good psychic is being a sort of counsellor, Rose is perfectly qualified.

She holds a degree in psychology, undertook a postgraduate diploma in counselling and even taught ethics and counselling at Southern Cross University before becoming a full-time psychic.

“I studied counselling and was working at the Women’s Health Centre in NSW, which was funded by the state health department. My career was going well but I was finding it more and more difficult not to tell my clients what else I knew. I felt so conflicted that I had to leave.

“I thought I’d get another job, but the spirit told me not to work for a year. I had no idea how I would manage that but my gifts are all about being in service. I do what I am directed by the spirit.

“To me, I think of the spirit as God, but it’s not a singularity, it’s a plural. I also don’t necessarily see it as a Christian God, organised religion can be so divisive, to me it’s a life force.

“Having said that, I often do see Jesus and Mary but I’m just as happy to be called a witch or a pagan as a Christian. It’s all working in service to the spirit of love and life.

“Still, when the spirit told me to stop working my husband was not too happy about it. But in the end it made perfect sense, I needed to build my energy so that I could launch Absolute Soul Secrets.”

Rose says the decision to create her business was dictated to her in a dream, saying that Michael the Archangel wrote the words “soul secrets” on her forehead in white light for months until she understood the meaning.

She says turning her one-woman psychic service into a network also came courtesy of a dream.

“I had a dream that my boobs were growing bigger and bigger and there were hundreds of people suckling from them … I was like a giant pig. That’s when I realised I needed help to ‘feed’ my clients,” she laughs.

“I started employing other psychics and it just took off from there.”

However, when it comes to Rose’s psychic gifts, she says they were the silver lining of a dark situation.

Abused as a child, she says her intuition quickly developed as a form of protection.

“I had a dangerous childhood, there was abuse in my family and it was very dark,” she says.

“You get psychic really quick if you don’t want to get hurt, and I recall my abilities from about the age of two.

“By the time I was 21 I was ‘seeing’ things on a daily basis. I have clairvoyance where I can close my eyes and it’s like watching a movie.

“I also have clairsentience, I’m very physically sensitive and some clairaudience, where I can hear voices.

“I see dead people as well. But I really try not to tune into that because it’s hard to control. Sometimes I don’t want to see or hear or sense things, so I have to be very careful what I expose myself to.”

While Rose’s network employs psychics from all over the world, she says there is no better office than here on the Gold Coast.

And while she was born in NSW, she says the spirit literally moved her to our seaside city.

“My husband and I used to live in Hay, in NSW, and I kept waking up with the word ‘north’ in my head.

“So we moved to Coffs Harbour and we lived there for 18 years, but that word still kept waking me up.

“Ten years ago I knew we had to move again and we came to the Gold Coast, and I’ve never dreamed of ‘north’ again. This is where I was meant to be.

“I am biased because I love Australia so much, but one of the reasons that I believe we are the lucky country is because we have so little karmic debt.

“Of course we have some bad karma from the massacre of our indigenous peoples, but that’s 200 years of bad karma rather than the thousands that other countries have.

“When I go to the UK, as soon as my feet touch the ground, I can literally feel the pressure of history bearing down on me. It makes it harder to read people and situations as well, it’s all so hazy.

“And now, given the state of the world, I’m so very grateful to the spirit for bringing me to the safest, most beautiful city on the planet.”

ROSE’S PREDICTIONS FOR THE GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA AND THE WORLD

The future is rosy for the Gold Coast. When I see it, the city is literally glowing. We are in the best city in the best state in the best country. Although life hasn’t exactly been easy, I do see a year-on-year improvement from 2022 onwards and by 2025 we are absolutely firing.

Even with my eyes open, as I look over Palm Beach I see a sturgeon fish in the sky. I’m not entirely sure what it means but a fish is often a symbol of spirituality. This could mean the Gold Coast is evolving as a spiritual home.

The city will become more eco-aware. We’re going to start seeing some climate change effects and that will make us take more action.

When I think of the Gold Coast economy I want to cough, I get a tickle in my throat and lungs. Just like an old engine, our economy will cough and splutter a bit and have a few false starts, but once it gets going it will come roaring back.

When it comes to international travel, I’m getting a Singaporean/Asian vibe but it will be after Christmas.

Although my head says we have to be careful regarding a Covid outbreak in Queensland, my spirit shows green growth and expansion … we have some sort of X-factor that is protecting us. But we need to follow the government’s directions.

Covid is going to continue for a while but it will go away eventually … although that will likely be several years and vaccinations will be key.

Australia is like a teenager right now, we have all the potential but are still learning and growing. We are set to take a bigger role on the world stage … but I should preface that with the fact that I’m extremely biased and pro-Australia.

It looks like we’ll have a federal election in March and while Scott Morrison is going to have a rough time, I have a visual of the queen placing a crown on his head … so he might well have another term.

I get the word “disappear” when I think about Trump. He won’t be president again. I have had flashes of Kamala Harris, I think she will be the first female president but in 2028 she will have a bad time with a spiritual wound and will only serve one term.
