A YOUNG Gold Coast woman is living the dream, having gone from studying real estate to posing for Vogue magazine and partying in Paris with Dior.
Nadine Gold, 22, said she had taken “a bit of a gamble but it definitely paid off” after she quit her job, left studying and packed her bag at home at Maudsland to pursue her dream of modelling.
Ms Gold had started modelling when she was a teenager but gave it up when she finished school to start full-time work.
“I started (modelling) when I was 17 but it was just more local work,” she said.

“I went to do full-time work for a bit. I studied for my real estate licence and was working in an animal hospital.
“In December I quit my job as I decided I wanted to model again.

“I signed with Busy Models in December and I did a campaign in January. In February I met with (modelling agency) Two Management in LA.”
After touching down in Los Angeles, she went straight into back-to-back casting and then headed “straight to Europe”.

Ms Gold spent the next five months modelling for some of the world’s biggest designers, from Calvin Klein, Valentino, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) and Isabel Marant, to Hermès and Rick Owens.
She walked for the designers during Paris Fashion Week and attended a Dior party before spending nine weeks in Greece shooting for magazines and walking in fashion shows.
During that time Calvin Klein flew her to Amsterdam to pose for an activewear collection.
“It’s long days. You’re up from when the sun comes up and sleep whenever you get to sleep,” Ms Gold said.
“But they look after you really well. As soon as the shoot is over they give you breakfast and lunch, whatever you want.

“I got to do a lot of travelling through work. I got to have a few days break in between shoots and do some sightseeing through the Greek Islands.”
But for Ms Gold, the best moment was “when I booked the editorial for Vogue Greece”.
“That was the biggest thing for me. I was so excited about that,’’ she said.
“I had a page spread in the May issue of Vogue Greece.
“It was awesome. It was a day shoot. The crew were all really cool and relaxed.
“(It) wasn’t as stressful and crazy as people think it is.”
Ms Gold is “glad” she took the risk and quit her job to chase her dream.
She returned to the Gold Coast two weeks ago and is catching up with family and friends before she leaves in a couple of weeks.
“I was (missing home) a bit but I was so busy I didn’t have much time to think about it,” she said.
“You’re never lonely over there. There is always so much going on.
“I’m getting into shape for fashion week in September. I’ll either be going to Europe or the US.”
