FRIENDS of a 24-year-old man who fell from a Broadbeach balcony are asking for help to cover growing medical costs and to support his young son.

Noah Fellows is in a critical condition in the Gold Coast University Hospital with serious head injuries, a punctured lung and broken ribs after the three storey fall.

He fell from the balcony about 7pm on Saturday night.

Mr Fellows, who has a young son, locked himself out of his Anne Avenue unit and was trying to climb to the four storey balcony.

His housemate and best friend Jeff Willis has set up a Go Fund Me fundraising page to help support Mr Fellows.

“He had made it nearly all the way there and tragically what he was supporting his legs on to keep going higher gave way and he fell into the tiled pool area below onto his head,” Mr Willis wrote on the fundraising page.

Mr Fellows is expected to remain in an induced coma until later this week.

“The extent of his brain injury is still not clear, he is expected to live which has been great news to his close friends and family,” Mr Willis wrote.

“He has a beautiful little boy who I’m sure is in a strange place not knowing what’s wrong with his father.”

Mr Willis wrote that any money raised would be used to help support Mr Fellows’ son and pay for any medical and rehabilitation costs.

The goal is to raise $18,000 and $2,700 has already been contributed.
