The Cadbury crème egg like you’ve never seen it before

A Sydney cafe has got thousands of people losing their minds over its Cadbury crème egg invention, with some loving it and others loathing it.

Social media is alight after a Sydney cafe shared a photo of the iconic Cadbury Creme egg looking like a deep-fried chicken nugget.

Milky Lane in Bondi, known for its quirky deep-fried creations, took a massive risk when it decided to deep-fry the already popular crème egg.

“I have THE biggest sweet tooth and weird food combo fetish — but this is f***ing gross,” one person said on their post.

Milky Lane posted this snap on their social media accounts last night causing mayhem online. Most people were in awe of their deep-fried Cadbury crème egg creation.

While some people were clearly against it, others declared it “the best invention ever” with the majority of the more than 8000 Facebook and Instagram comments in favour of the cornflakes-coated egg.

“SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY,” a clearly excited customer said.

“Oh shyt … they know what’s up … this is me in a chicken nut shell …”

“Holy f***ing shit. That’s insane!!!

“I need thisssssss.”

“You guys are killing me.”

Even though the cafe came up with the idea two weeks ago, it teased fans with a post last night showing someone dipping the crunchy-looking egg into a Nutella dipping sauce.

Customers are going to have to wait until next Friday to try the epic new creation which is served hot, straight out of the deep fryer and on an egg cup.

The batter is a mix of Crunchy Nut cornflakes filled with the crème eggs runny and gooey chocolate.

“I love it,” co-owner Christian Avant told news.com.au. “Nothing is too much for me. I couldn’t be in this job if I thought it was too much. We have no boundaries.”

Mr Avant, the man responsible for the creation, said if there’s a huge demand for it, they will extend its spot on the menu. But for now it’s only available over the Easter long weekend.

“If goes really well, which we think it will, we will keep it on a little longer as we don’t want anyone missing out,” he said.

The cafe is no newbie to the world of wacky creations — it’s known for deep-frying all the favourites from Magnum, Gaytime and Snickers bars.

But it was their Bubble-O-Bill ice cream cocktail that helped attract their now almost 100,000 Instagram followers.

“That went crazy last year. It got almost 30,000 comments on Facebook,” Mr Avant said.

“That’s our thing. We like to put a twist on the classic favourites.”

The Cadbury deep fried egg will be available across all its six cafes in Sydney and on the Gold Coast from April 12 to 15.
