KitKat flavour Aussies love returns to supermarket shelves

It has been one of the iconic chocolate bar’s most requested flavours, and now KitKat has dropped a huge announcement, dividing Aussie foodies.

It has been one of the most requested flavours for the iconic chocolate bar, and now KitKat has dropped a huge announcement.

KitKat has released a brand-new Cookie Dough-filled chocolate block to join the popular KitKat Chunky Cookie Dough bar.

The bars feature cookie dough filling covered in milk chocolate, paired with KitKat’s signature wafer.

Although the range officially hits supermarkets and convenience stores from today, social media users have already shared their reactions to the variety.

Russ Eats, who is known for his brutally honest food reviews, took to social media to express his thoughts on the chocolate bar.

“As usual the normal bar is sh*t, you don’t taste anything but a normal KitKat,” Russ said after trying both wafer bars.

“With the Chunky, you definitely get something different but it is more like a sour Cookies and Cream.”

He admitted he wasn’t completely sure if this was the same taste he remembered, as Cookie Dough KitKat Chunky bars have previously been on shelves back in 2007 and then again in 2020.

Russ was left disappointed, giving the Chunky bar a rating a 6.5 out of 10, despite Chunky KitKat being one of his favourite chocolate bar ranges.

TikTok user Annalise also tried out the flavour, resorting to the normal Cookie Dough bar after not being able to get her hands on the Chunky version.

“I am pretty sure the Chunky is better because you get a good layer of Cookie Dough,” she said, before taste testing the bar.

“When you taste the cookie dough, it actually tastes like cookie dough. There is a lot of milk chocolate going on so I feel like the Chunky would be better.”

Overall, she said the version was “pretty good”.

“It’s no surprise that our KitKat Chunky Cookie Dough bar has been one of the most requested bars from our fans – it’s delicious, exciting and elevates any break, thanks to its indulgent filling,” Melanie Chen, Nestle’s head of marketing confectionary, said.

“We know Aussies go crazy for Cookie Dough, so being able to expand the range into KitKat blocks means there’s a perfect excuse to share a delicious break with others.”
