Cadbury release limited edition Crème Egg block

Cadbury have confirmed the iconic Creme Egg is available in a sharable form after teasing fans for days.

Cadbury has been teasing fans about the release of a major new Creme Egg creation since last week.

Now the chocolate giants have shared details of what the tasty new treat is — a family block filled with the iconic creme.

The limited edition bar has been released for Easter 2019 and fans can’t contain their egg-citement.

Social media is alight with news of the iconic egg’s major transformation, with people declaring it “the best invention ever”.

Australian blogger Addicted to Bargains has had over 17,000 comments after sharing news she’d found a bar in Coles.

“A Creme Egg block of chocolate — what a winner,” one fan wrote underneath.

“Oh my goodness, what a time to be alive” another declared.

Another said: “Omg! Shut up & take my money.”

While some said they were rushing to stores to get their hands on a bar.

Others took to Twitter to express their joy at the news — which is the first time the gooey chocolate has ever been sold as a Cadbury Dairy Milk block for Australians.

The limited edition slab boasts the signature flavours of a gooey Creme Egg centre, encased in the traditional milk chocolate block.

Paul Chatfield, Marketing Director, Chocolate, Australia and New Zealand said in a statement: “We’re excited to give Australians a new way to enjoy and share the legendary Cadbury Creme Egg.

The traditional version comes in an egg shape and is still available.

“Easter is a time of year that brings families together and what better way to celebrate than with two Cadbury icons coming together, the Creme Egg and Cadbury Dairy Milk block.”

The block is available in Coles and Woolworths stores across Australia now, but judging from social media, many people are struggling to get their hands on the stuff.

“Walked to Coles then to Woolworths, which are at opposite ends of the shops, just in the hope that one of them had the creme egg block that cadbury has brought out,” one disappointed fan wrote on Twitter.
