Women are raving about Target’s bargain $140 linen suit

Australian fashion stylists are “loving” an affordable version of a current fashion trend – and it’s proving so popular, Target is releasing more.

Fashion stylists rave about new $140 suit from Target

It’s the must-have wardrobe item for summer – but a tailored linen suit can often set you back hundreds of dollars.

However, women are raving about an affordable two-piece from Target that comes in at a fraction of the cost of the designer versions at just $140.

The “relaxed” blazer, $70, and matching wide-leg pants, also $70, come in an array of colours – beige, black, pale blue, mint green and a tan brown – and are new additions to the Preview brand at the Australian retailer.

There are also other styles of pants available for shoppers to mix and match, including the “Paperbag Waist Pants” which come in black and beige and cost $60.

On social media, the affordable two-piece has been praised, with Canberra stylist Gen – who posts under the handle @thisisgenevieve_ – describing it as an “essential” wardrobe addition.

“Dress up for the office or wear casually, you can’t go wrong,” she captioned a clip of herself in the beige blazer with the paperbag waist pants.

Gen styled hers with a white knit tank top and matching sneakers, accessorising with a black handbag, that followers said looked “so cute”.

“I love how you’ve styled this with sneakers,” one said.

“Looks like a great fit,” another added.

Target told news.com.au “customers have been loving” the outfit as it features “contemporary tailoring” and a light-airy fabric that will carry them from spring into summer.

“Customers have been loving our new suiting collection and we’ve seen them style it up and down with sneakers for the more relaxed look, or with heels as they head to their spring summer events.

“The collection has been designed to mix and match to suit everyone’s style and includes our statement blazer, wide leg pants, linen culottes, and shorts so no matter your style, there’s something for everyone,” a spokesperson said.

The retailer added the best selling colour was tan, followed by green and light beige.

“We’ve placed a huge importance on our summer collection being versatile, in a seasonal way so our customers can create layered looks for shifting climates,” the spokesperson added.

“The suiting collection is elevated, sensual, comfortable and playful with bright colours so that our customers can mix and match the looks to suit their lifestyle.

Despite only hitting selves in recent weeks, Target revealed it was so popular a new colour was being added to the collection very soon.

“Our Fuchsia Pink suiting collection will land in stores and online in VIC, NSW, TAS, SA from the 13th of November and from 4 December in QLD and WA,” the spokesperson said.

“In addition to the beautiful pink, we have a stunning sunlight yellow suit that customers will be able to purchase in store and online from next week.”

Earlier this year, Perth fashion stylish Breeahn Carter raved about a similar nude suit, which cost just over $100 – proving Target is fast becoming a place known for its affordable suiting.

Bree shared a video on TikTok wearing the brand’s “Wide Leg Pull On Pants”, $49, and a $59 “Belted Blazer”, both in a beige colour.

“Looks so great,” one user commented.

“Hard to believe it’s Target,” someone else said.

The mum told followers the suit was “great quality” and added she “fell in love with it” once she tried it on.
