Target has launched its new collection with a bang, with shoppers rushing to get their hands on a $70 dress.
Target debuted its spring and summer collection in an inclusive campaign featuring models of different sizes and cultural backgrounds – including one model with vitiligo.
The Frill V-neck Maxi Dress from the Lily Loves range, which comes in celery green, black and pink, has proven a clear stand out.
The dress – which comes in sizes six to 20 – has been flaunted by fashion influencers such as Brittany Melinda, who posted herself modelling the green and black version on TikTok.
“Looks like I’m going to Target tomorrow,” one social media user posted as a result of Brittany’s video.
Meanwhile, TikTok user @francescaasxo said she was “obsessed” with the frock in pink.
“It’s part of their new range. It does come in a few other colours … but I chose to go for some colour,” the Brisbane woman said.
“I’m actually obsessed. I can’t.”
Other social media users were equally impressed with the outfit.
“That’s phenomenal on you. I’m going to Target this weekend,” one of Francesca’s enthusiastic TikTok followers commented.
Another said: “Gorg!!! I need to go in store and see if I can see it here in Melbourne. Colour complements you so well.”
Target’s new collection also features wide leg pants from both the Preview and Lily Loves ranges, a button front waist coat in five different colours – including pastel lavender – and ribbed tank tops.
Swimwear items, linen, bold prints, resort wear and crochet pieces also feature as part of the collection.
Just like Kmart, Target is bringing back the 90s with some of their designs, such as one shoulder tops and mini skirts. They’re also offering the classics.
“Key trends for the season include bold oversized suiting, linen, cotton candy colours and the resurgence of the 90s and 00s,” Carrie Kirkman, general manager of merchandise at Target, told news.com.au.
“We’re excited to showcase these trends with a diverse range of talent on our Spring Summer runway, elevating our apparel range with a focus on quality and style at an affordable price.”
