Netflix star ditches skinny jeans for $79 pair from Aussie brand

A Netflix star has admitted she’s trying new styles of jeans after her favourite style was declared “over” by Gen Z – and she’s not alone.

Fashion Alert: Skinny Jeans May Be Bad for Your Health

If you still can’t accept that skinny jeans are no longer trendy, this high-waisted straight-leg pair might finally convince you to try something new.

Skinny jeans were declared “over” by TikTok and Gen Z at the start of the year after becoming a staple in the early noughties.

But many of us are having trouble letting go of the clingy denim design – including reality TV star Chrishell Stause.

The 40-year-old star from popular Netflix series Selling Sunset revealed she’d been “testing out non skinny jeans”, sharing a photo of a relaxed straight leg pair she loved back in March.

While many of the star’s 2.6 million followers were quick to respond, revealing her outfit had inspired them to give their skinny jeans the boot too, they were unable to buy the exact pair she was wearing from Australian e-tailer White Fox Boutique.

But after months of being out of stock, the “Hard To Believe Straight Leg jeans” have been replenished – and the “perfect wardrobe basic” comes with an affordable price tag of $79.95.

The straight leg jeans also feature removable ankle ties that give the pants an added flair, with Chrishell styling hers in a bow while walking her dog in LA.

She paired the jeans with a delicate white top and black strappy heels, with her blonde hair in loose waves over her shoulders.

Former Love Island Australia contestant Amelia Marni is also a fan of the jeans, sharing a photo wearing them with a brown bustier and black heels in July to a similar response.

The jeans have been out of stock for months, but after recently returning to virtual shelves shoppers have been taking to social media to share snaps wearing the popular item.

‘Skinny jeans are dead’

Fashion and beauty influencer Martha Kalifatidis told news.com.au in April that skinny jeans were definitely out, urging Aussies to try something new.

“If you’re still wearing skinny jeans I urge you to try something different, even if it’s in the comfort of the change room,” she said.
