Molly-Mae Hague quits her $10m-a-year job at PrettyLittleThing

Molly-Mae Hague has sensationally walked away from a $10m-a-year job at a global fashion brand after becoming a mum in January.

Influencer sensationally quits $750k-a-month job

A British influencer has stunned fans after revealing she’s quit her $750k-a-month job.

Molly-Mae Hague hit headlines around the world when she landed creative director role at PrettyLittleThing, which paid her almost $10 million-a-year, The Sun reports.

The 24-year-old, who rose to fame on Love Island UK in 2019, isn’t completely parting ways with the fast-fashion brand – telling fans she’s decided to step back from the leadership role after welcoming her four-month-old daughter Bambi with villa boyfriend Tommy Fury.

Molly said she’s had to “rearrange my life a little bit” to spend more time with her blossoming family in a YouTube video shared Wednesday.

“A lot of people have been asking me about PLT creative director. ‘How’s the role going? How’s everything going with PLT?’,” she said.

“Everything is going incredibly with PLT. I will forever have the most insane relationship with PLT – they are literally my family.

“I am still working with them and doing collections and edits, but I have actually decided to step down as my creative director role.”

Hague explained she’d come to this decision after having her “first born”, stating it was time to “lose some commitments” in order to be with her baby.

“I know this is quite a big thing to just mention,” she continued.

“Over the last few weeks, I have realised that I’m only going to get this time once with my firstborn child.

“I’m only going to get Bambi being four months old once and I feel like I’ve had to rearrange my life a little bit and lose some commitments that I did have.

“Myself and PLT have decided collectively that as much as the creative director role was incredible and I have literally loved being the creative director of PLT more than anything – it was such an amazing chapter for me – it has naturally come to an end.

“I am a mum now. I never really gave myself a maternity leave and I got straight back into work instantly because my work is my phone and showing my life is my work.

“There were just certain areas of my life where I had to re-evaluate. The last thing I would want to be is in a role that I can’t fulfil.”

Molly-Mae added: “There is no drama, there is absolutely no tea, there is nothing that has gone on.

“It was the most incredible pinch-me moment. I will never ever not be grateful to that business for what they have done to my career.”

Since welcoming Bambi on January 23, Hague has been the target of cruel trolls who have lashed her parenting skills.

The multi-millionaire, who met Fury on their season of Love Island UK, was criticised for showing off her bub’s impressive clothing collection in a mirror selfie when she was just a few weeks old – including a pair Gucci booties which retail for $600 in Australia.

Hague was also brutally mocked for Bambi’s “unusual” name.

The reality TV star was appointed creative director at PrettyLittleThing in mid-2021, resigning from the position after just 22 months.

She previously opened up about the huge 13-hour days she worked in the seven-figure position, stating “it doesn’t stop”.

“One day I’ll come in at 9am and won’t leave until 10pm – it doesn’t stop,” she in May last year.

“I wasn’t surprised by the amount of hard work that goes into being creative director because I think I’d gradually taken the role on.”

She also said the position had come around gradually after transitioning from “being a PLT customer to an influencer to a brand ambassador and now the creative director”.

“I think people get it twisted and I think I’m in charge of the whole brand, and I’ve come in and I’m going to flip it upside down. But that’s just not the case,” she said.

“I give my creative input where I can and I give my ideas. I’ve been a consumer since the age of 14 so I know what I want to see from this brand.
