Lara Worthington steps out in ‘G-string pants’ and sheer top in Bondi

The model and mum-of-three stepped out in Bondi in an unusual outfit involving straps and what appears to be a deliberate flash of her undies.

Lara Worthington has made a fashion statement after stepping out in a pair of very confusing pants that appear to flaunt her undies.

The 33-year-old, who is married to actor Sam Worthington, was out for a stroll in Sydney’s Bondi on Monday where she was snapped in a stylish, and rather head scratching, get-up.

Wearing an all black ensemble, the mum-of-three’s midriff was on display in a pair of “G-string” pants that are deliberately designed to make it look like your underwear is on full display.

The mum-of-three was seen walking in a pair of black ‘G-string pants’ – a 2021 take on a trend made popular in the ’90s.

Confused? Don’t worry – here’s how it works. The risque trend originated in the ’90s and works by wearing a pair of low-hanging pants with a tiny G-string worn underneath and pulled up high to make the undies visible.

In recent times, the bold trend has been making a comeback, but with the undies string built into the design on purpose.

In Lara’s case, it seems she has taken the trend to the next level, wearing a pair of pants that have a dropped waist and then a cage-type feature on the waist featuring strings and a fabric panel to make it appear as if her underwear is on show.

She’s then finished the look with a sheer black blouse that she’s tucked into the top of the pants.

The caging detail on the top of the pants cinches in at the waist, adding a silhouette to Lara’s otherwise demure ensemble – while her top has an a-symmetric neckline, showing more flesh on her left shoulder while fully covering her right.

The brand behind the eye-catching pants is not known however similar designs have been spotted at Australian stores including Glassons, Princess Polly and Beginning Boutique.

Former reality star Martha Kalifatidis recently wore a pair that had chain detailing while appearing to mimmick a G-string sitting on her hips.

Lara, who hit fame in 2006, when she was known as Lara Bingle, in the controversial “Where the bloody hell are ya?” Tourism Australia campaign, recently turned heads in a dramatic Dion Lee dress worth $1990 at Melbourne Fashion Festival where she walked the red carpet as a special guest of David Jones.
