Shoppers are hysterical about the budget retailer now selling cheap version of an expensive item that saves Australians almost $200.

It’s the wardrobe staple that usually costs hundreds of dollars — which is why heaps of Australians are delighted Kmart has just launched an affordable version.

Shoppers have spotted the budget retailer is now selling a stylish trench coat for just $49, and it’s so impressive, some buyers have declared it the best money they’ve ever spent at Kmart.

The “lightweight” garment, made from a mix of polyester and viscose, features two side pockets, a button up front and an adjustable waist belt.

A Kmart spokesperson told news.com.au the “trench will be the coat of the season”, adding that while it has only just started hitting shelves across the country, it is sure to be “picked up fast”.

“The versatility of the trench is why customers are all wanting to own it – it’s great for casual weekend dressing with jeans and a T-shirt or knit as the weather starts to cool down. “Alternatively it’s a great layering piece for dressing up over a top and skirt or a great dress with heels.”

It seems shoppers who have managed to get their hands on the popular product agree, with many sharing their purchase online with rave reviews.

“This is the best $49 I have ever spent at Kmart,” a TikTok user named Emma Jane Hanson wrote.

Emma then proceeded to show followers how she styles the garment in the video, wearing it over a pair of jeans with a white T-shirt and a cross-body bag for a laid back look.

“I got it, how amazing is it,” one woman agreed.

“Would never guess it’s Kmart,” another stated.

And another said: “Love the coat! ️Going to Kmart today, hopefully I can find one.”

On Instagram, many were comparing the affordable fashion find to more expensive versions sold at different Australian retailers.

“Chic and timeless style on any budget,” one wrote, sharing a photo of the trench alongside a $229.95 version from Decjuba.

Shoppers lapped up the comparisons, declaring the Kmart trench a “steal” at less than fifty bucks.

“Love this style! And look at that price difference,” one declared.

While a video of the new Kmart product shared by news.com.au’s Lifestyle Editor on social media after spotting it in store also gained attention, with many viewers declaring it “looks gorgeous on”.

“Kmart is so good at the moment,” another stated.

“I LOVE Kmart!!” someone else weighed in.
