Kmart selling $10 Havaianas sparking shopper frenzy

The discount department store has sparked a frenzy among shoppers after it unveiled a range of the popular item at a heavily discounted price.

It’s summer, which means there’s no more important footwear than a pair of thongs.

As any Aussie will know, there’s no pain like having to dash across the hot sand at the beach barefoot.

One of the most popular flip-flop brands out are the Havaianas, with the iconic Brazilian brand becoming an unofficial Aussie favourite in the last decade.

A pair of their thongs for adults will set you back at least $30, which is why shoppers were excited to spot them at a fraction of the price in Kmart.

The discount department store are selling a select range of the popular branded thongs for just $10.

The thongs, which are available for a limited time only, sparked excitement among shoppers many of whom expressed shock that the usually expensive thongs were available in Kmart for such a cheap price.

“So since when has Kmart been selling Havvies?” one shopper asked in the Kmart Inspired Homes Facebook group.

The post sparked hundreds of comments, with some in disbelief that they could be the real deal.

Kmart confirmed they were selling Havaianas for a limited time only.

“They are sooooo good! Just got my first pair the other week and I have been living in them! So comfy!” one wrote.

“Definitely have to do a Kmart shop on Wednesday when I’m FREE,” another shopper wrote on Kmart’s Instagram.

“Crikey they are even available at Kmart!” one customer wrote on Kmart’s Facebook page.

“Thank you Kmart! Now I don’t have to wait for Aldi’s annual sale to get an affordable Havaianas – good stuff!” another said.

A Kmart spokeswoman confirmed the department store was selling Havaianas, telling news.com.au: “These styles have been incredibly popular and have come in for a limited time only.”

Kmart isn’t the only shop to surprise customers by stocking branded items – Big W has in the past stocked Nike runners at heavily discounted prices for a limited time only.

The runners, which have been sold for the fraction of the price for as little as $40, sparked an in-store frenzy for them when they were last available in February.
