Heidi Klum has been slammed again for staring in a lingerie campaign alongside her teenage daughter Leni.
The German supermodel, 50, and her eldest child, 19, posed in lacy underwear for a new Intimissimi shoot despite their regular double appearance for the brand being met with a wave of criticism.
Fans of the supermodel as well as fellow parents have described snaps of the mother-daughter duo as “weird” and “wrong” – but the backlash hasn’t put them off doing it again.
After celebrating the launch of their new campaign for the Italian lingerie brand with a lavish party in Berlin, the controversial snaps began flooding social media, and with it came a new barrage of criticism.
In the latest images, Heidi is wearing a lacy nude bra and matching undies while Leni wears a fuschia version.
“Why is Heidi letting her daughter wear that? Does no one else think this is very weird?” one person commented on the Intimissimi Instagram page.
“Extremely bizarre and uncomfortable,” someone else stated.
“A teenager with her mum in lingerie like this is extremely weird,” another user agreed.
Others claimed Leni had been “heavily edited” in the images, which made her look younger, adding to the “strangeness” of the campaign.
“She is a beautiful model but why make her look younger? It looks inappropriate,” one suggested.
“The photo looks very photoshopped to be honest and the model looks underage …. it’s not great,” someone else stated.
As one scoffed: “This photoshop job is piss poor, it’s almost funny how bad it is.”
Since Leni, the eldest daughter of Heidi and Italian businessman Flavio Briatore, began appearing alongside her mother for the lingerie brand, Heidi has been copping criticism.
Some suggested they “weren’t comfortable” with the teenager’s involvement in a “sexualised image” with her mother.
“I would not be proud to show my daughter off in this way. I would feel embarrassed and sad,” one wrote.
“Somehow it’s weird to see mother and daughter in underwear,” another commented. “I mean, how many were photographed like this with their mother.”
“First thing I think of when I want to pose in my intimates: ‘My mum should be here!’” a third said, to which one person responded, “I know, kind of gross.”
Leni, who was also adopted by singer Seal in 2009 as a result of his marriage to Heidi between 2005 to 2014, however has previously defended the backlash.
The then 18-year-old said she doesn’t read comments that have been made about her work, adding she and her mother are “happy” with the photos.
“I honestly didn’t look at a lot of the reactions,” she told Page Six last October.
“I am overall happy with the campaign and I had an amazing day with my mum. I think the photos turned out great and we had an amazing time.
“I just don’t look at [social media commentary], honestly. If I don’t look at it, I don’t have to pay any attention to it, so I just don’t know what is there. I had an amazing day, an amazing shoot, it’s out, I love it.”
Both Leni and Heidi have disabled comments on images from the new campaign shared to their personal Instagram accounts.
