After being unable to hit the racecourse last year, Australian stars have gone all out for the race that stops the nation.
All eyes were on the Lexus Melbourne Cup headliner Delta Goodrem on Tuesday who made her eagerly-awaited appearance at Flemington Racecourse in not one but two unforgettable outfits.
She wasn’t the only star who posed in a showstopping ensemble, with TV presenter and racing identity Kate Waterhouse also stunning in a fitted black dress, featuring a plunging neckline.
Meanwhile, former reality star Tayla Damir opted for a striking backless gown and MasterChef Australia judge Melissa Leong went for a chic black strapless frock.
Delta initially appeared in a bold jumpsuit before changing into a second bold outfit – an almost fluorescent orange floor length gown with a billowing cape.
The bright orange dress was a statement piece, transitioning the star from a pre-recorded version of her performance song into a live appearance on stage.
As well as a statement cape, the gown featured long sleeves and a high neck, ensuring no skin was flashed during the show.
The cape also flapped dramatically behind the superstar, marking a memorable Cup Day performance.
Earlier, Delta attended the iconic venue in a striking pink and yellow jumpsuit.
The singer posed confidently in the contrasting coloured flared one-piece made by designer Mariam Seddiq.
The colourful strapless one-piece was adorned with a giant pink bow on her hip, the “ribbon” trailing down one leg.
The 36-year-old – who is a Victoria Racing Club (VRC) ambassador – paired her bold outfit with a fluoro pink oversized hat, a strikingly different shade to the pale pink in her jumpsuit.

“Spectacular Styling! Looking Incredible Kate,” one follower wrote, while others described her look as “stunning” and “divine”.
She accessorised the look with a bespoke, pink bow by Australian milliner Nerida Winter and a pair of black Louboutin pointy heels.
VRC ambassador Tayla Damir attended the event in a striking dress of her own, wearing a backless dress that flashed her bare shoulders.
The AFL WAG’s outfit featured a bronze print which she partnered with a metallic headpiece, posing sultrily over her shoulder to flaunt her bare flesh.
She also had matching diamond earrings and a ring, writing on Instagram: “It’s all in the details.”
Tayla’s partner Nathan Broad was also in attendance, posing alongside his glamorous other half in a selfie.
Meanwhile MasterChef Australia judge Melissa Leong wore a strapless black dress to the festivities with a splash of pink over her shoulders.
Delta’s striking outfit is a stark contrast to the ensemble Delta teased fans with earlier in the day on her Instagram Stories.
In a selfie wishing followers a “happy race day”, she played it safe, opting for a simple floral dress with mismatched accessories.
The photo appears to be a behind-the-scenes shot taken from her cover shoot on Tuesday’s Herald Sun.
Her floaty dress was paired with a strong purple hat with a cream bag featuring a brown strap.
Candice Warner, who is celebrating the Lexus Melbourne Cup from Sydney this year, has stepped out in a one shoulder dress in the striking red hues of the event.
The figure-hugging gown features a frill feature on the right shoulder and has been paired with a matching oversized hat.

The former ironwoman and SAS contestant posed in the figure-hugging gown while clutching a bottle of G.H Mumm champagne, a sponsor of the prestigious event.
She’s not the only famous face who has gone for a one shoulder dress in that shade of red, with Studio 10 host Sarah Harris taking to air in a stunning gown that is very similar.
“Sarah that red on you is spectacular,” one commented.
“I love that red dress on you Sarah,” another agreed.
Michelle Payne, the first and only female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup back in 2015, attended as part of her official duties as a VRC ambassador.
The racing royalty opted for a bold, emerald green halter-neck dress with a glimpse of sideboob.
Her dress featured a statement ruffled hem that she paired with a unique halo headpiece.
In a bid to stay comfortable, Michelle opted for a pair of best-selling Lana Wilkinson heels, that fashion stylist and designer Lana told news.com.au were created to be worn all day at spring racing events without hurting feet.
Jessica Rowe got dressed up in Sydney, having fun in a white spaghetti-strap dress with a homemade fascinator.
The star stated she was celebrating to “honour my Victorian pals who are seeing life open up again”, creating am oversized fried egg fascinator to wear with her slinky dress.
Fans lapped up the unusual detail, describing it as: “Most eggsellent.”
Earlier in the day, Channel 10's Kate Freebairn stepped out in a lilac, structured one shoulder dress from Cappellazzo Couture for her Cup Day presenting duties.
She paired her pretty outfit with a matching scrunchie, a unique take on Cup Day headpieces.
Model Olivia Molly Rogers revealed her Melbourne Cup look with a relatable bathroom selfie (we’re all guilty of this).
She wore a red jewelled headband from Colette by Colette Hayman and a golden yellow dress with an elaborate beaded bow-shaped neckline.
The Melbourne-based model – who recently revealed she'd quit alcohol – also showed off her make-up, revealing a smokey eye look in deeper tones of red while her lipstick was the same bold shade as her headpiece.
Model and recent SAS contestant Erin Holland also dressed up in Brisbane for hosting duties at the Cali Hotel’s Melbourne Cup event.
The star – dressed by celebrity stylist Donny Galella – wore an emerald green dress with statement sleeves.
Her dress, made by Khirzad Femme, has been paired with black accessories – including a black hat, back and strappy heels.
