Meghan Trainor is the latest mega celeb to be spotted wearing this mini-dress, sparking a frenzy for the Australian item around the globe.

A string of A-list celebrities have caused a frenzy for a cut-out dress from an Australian designer.

Meghan Trainor recently wore the $649 “Katie Bow Mini Dress”, designed by Rebecca Vallance, during a recent episode of Australian Idol.

As well as performing in the black dress, which features puffed sleeves and an adorable bow detailing across the bust, she maintained her co-hosting duties in the striking number.

Meghan isn’t the only huge star to have worn the statement piece in recent weeks, with Paris Hilton rocking the dress during a book signing for Paris: The Memoir.

Hollywood actress Kate Beckinsale also stepped out in the black mini, as well as TV star Sophia Bush.

The effect has been huge for Rebecca Vallance, with the designer telling news.com.au it has helped grow the brand internationally, as shoppers rush to buy the celebrity approved outfit.

“It is always amazing to see celebrities wearing Rebecca Vallance,” Rebecca said.

“The style has been so incredibly popular this season, we have even made a hot pink version, the Cecily Mini Dress, to accommodate the customer demand.

“As we continue to expand globally, we’re seeing huge growth in the US market – celebrity placements are key as consumers love being able to immediately shop outfits they see on their favourite star.”

Rebecca said the dress’ popularity was down to the fact the brand had recreated the “Little Black Dress” – stating: “You can never go wrong with an LBD.”

“It is a timeless wardrobe stable that you can wear season to season, and it never dates,” she said.

“There are so many styling opportunities when it comes to the Katie Bow Mini, my favourite way to style the dress back is with a classic black heel.

“Whilst over in the Northern Hemisphere, where it has been cooler, we have seen the mini dress styled with sheer tights and chic leather boots, giving it more of that cool girl edge.”

She added that the dress channelled the brand’s “romantic and playful” side and was designed to look great on everyone.

“The Katie Bow Mini Dress was designed with a fitted bodice and subtle front cut-outs hidden behind the contrasting taffeta bows,” she said.

“The flattering A-line silhouette and voluminous puff sleeves is our take on the ‘Little Black Dress’, representing the Rebecca Vallance girl – cool in an undone way.”
