Your patience has been rewarded!

This morning, Netflix announced that season four of Bridgerton will be hitting the streaming platform in 2026, along with a teaser trailer that has viewers obsessed, and confirmation that seasons five and six are also on the way.

The announcement, delivered by Lady Whistledown herself, was posted to Bridgerton’s Instagram account.

“Dearest Gentle Reader,” it reads.

“Rarely is this author granted the opportunity to share with you such information.

“It is with great pleasure I can announce Bridgerton shall return for Seasons 5 and 6. Do celebrate accordingly.

“And in the meantime, do prepare yourselves for Bridgerton Season 4 shall debut in 2025.

“It would seem this author is going to be quite busy.”

The season was first confirmed back in 2021, in an historic double renewal by the streaming giant along with season three. Since then, fans have been fed in droplets, with the announcement of Australia’s own Yerin Ha as leading lady Sophie last September, and the first teaser trailer and images dropped in February.

What do we know?

So far, we know that this season revolves around second son Benedict Bridgerton, who at this point in the series is yet to settle down - unlike his elder and younger brothers.

However, this all changes when he meets a captivating ‘Lady in Silver’ at his mother’s masquerade ball. This mysterious woman is none other than Sophie Baek, who, if the season is to follow the books, is the illegitimate daughter of an earl who has since been made a servant by her stepmother - very Cinderella of her.

It’s this first meeting we see in the new teaser, and according to fans, it couldn’t have been done more perfectly.

“THE OPEN NECK. HIS FACE WHEN HE SEES HER. Her smile. This is the book if I ever saw it,” said one social media user in response to the trailer.

“Sophie my baby girl!! She's just so happy to be there, I'm so excited to meet this new show version of her,” said another.

“Love at first sight for Bennie! He’s totally enamoured like she is the brightest star in any room. Here for lovesick Bennie,” a third agreed.

“Ok but him being drawn to her because she’s appreciating the beauty of the chandelier is perfect :) it’s such a natural reason why Benedict would like her,” said another.

The set design and costuming seen in the teaser has also received plenty of praise, following mixed reviews of season 3.

How long are we waiting for?!

Fans are still awaiting the first full trailer, so in the meantime are filling in the gaps as to how the rest of the season will play out compared to the book.

So far, we know there are more than a few fan-favourite cast members returning for season four, including Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton, Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma and Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Bridgerton.

But, the question everyone is asking is… when will this thing actually come out?

2026 is all we know so far (as vague as that is). Is a January 1 release too much to ask for? And, can this season not be split into two parts? Please??
