IT’S the timelapse of the Gold Coast that will give you goosebumps.
The highly-anticipated sequel to local filmmaker Tim Caraco’s 2014 timelapse that went viral across the globe has finally been released, exclusively at goldcoastbulletin.com.au
Three years after the first timelapse showed the Gold Coast in all its glory, Caraco has taken the cinematography to the next level shooting Part 2 in timelapse, hyperlapse slow motion and using drone footage of the city’s most incredible locations.

Away from the high-rises and Glitter Strip, Part 2 shows the ‘real’ Gold Coast — the stunning beaches, the mountain ranges, the sunrises, the sunsets, the hikes, the unbelievable vistas and breathtaking waterfalls.
Caraco spent hours hiking to remote places and even risked certain death by scrambling along Pinnacle Ridge — a sheer cliff face with massive drop offs on both sides.
It was that shot, he says, was the toughest.
“We hiked for 1.5 hours to get to Pinnacle Ridge and I had 20kg of camera gear on my back, trying to walk along this ridge line with massive drops either side,” he said.
“I walked along to a spot I could set my tripod up and then shot timelapse and drone footage while my mate Paddy Skicko kept walking along the ridge line.
“It was the hardest shot but the most worth it.”
As for his favourite shot, one in the opening sequence of paddleboarders at Burleigh is up there.
“I really like that shot because of the diamond shape the paddleboarders are in, moving clockwise. They look like I told them to do that.”
Caraco used real Gold Coasters in candid shots for sections of his timelapse and said he almost missed one breathtaking timelapse opportunity as a storm surrounded by two rainbows rolled out to sea.
“It was kind of gloomy outside and I wasn’t going to go out,” he said.
“Then five minutes later the sky started to get that purple colour so I jumped in my car and sat at Elephant Rock shooting a timelapse when two rainbows showed up.”
