DREAMWORLD’S latest safety initiative will see almost a dozen lifesaving devices installed around the park.
A total of nine Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) will be stationed around the park including in the food court, Wiggles World and Tiger Island.
Seven-time Ironman series champion and former World Ironman champion Guy Leech said the technology is “the best in the world”.
“The beauty with this device is that it doesn’t just provide a shock to the patient it actually coaches you on CPR,” he said.
“You can actually start doing CPR and it will tell you whether you’re doing it correctly, whether you’re actually pushing down far enough and whether you’re going quick enough.”
The machines automatically assess whether someone having an apparent heart attack needs a shock and administers one if necessary.
It comes as Dreamworld upgrades their park Health Facility to employ three levels of health staff.
