SOUTHPORT veteran councillor Dawn Crichlow and her prized pooch Princess Pookie have been immortalised in a painting.
The art work by De Paul Villa Aged Care resident Cecily Kroh, 81, is to be officially unveiled this morning at the Southport rest home.
Ms Kroh said she did the piece based on photographs of Cr Crichlow and her Maltese Shihtzu who is a daily visitor to De Paul Village keeping residents company.

“It was a gift from me to Dawn and she has gifted it back to us,” Ms Kroh said.
Princess Pookie has a special place in the hearts of residents after she was hailed a hero for raising the alarm with reception when a resident had collapsed and knocked herself unconscious in 2017.

A chuffed Cr Crichlow said she was thrilled with the painting and described Ms Kroh as “brilliant”.
“She is really talented. I don’t like to look at myself but it’s a brilliant one of Princess Pookie.”
Cr Crichlow will unveil the artwork today at the Aged Care home which will have pride of place in a new art gallery area inside.
