FIREFIGHTERS have been called out to a bus stop that suddenly burst into flames along a busy arterial road this afternoon.
Around 2.15pm firefighters were called to Hooker Boulevard and Manapouri Street in Broadbeach Waters to reports of a blaze.
A witness said they were driving past when they saw smoke and a small flame coming from the bus stop.
“It was a tiny bit of smoke and a flame,” the witness who was heading to Pacific Fair said.
“By the time I came back, it had burned down to the ground. They were just putting it out.”
The witness said they believed it may have started because of the electrics inside the bus stop used for advertising.
