A Melbourne bride left her husband and 200 wedding guests in shock after she underwent a bold move, leaving many “speechless”.

A bride left her groom and wedding guests in shock after she decided to get her hair chopped part-way through her reception.
Luciana, 27, from Melbourne, tied the knot to her beau, James, 28, in May this year.
And while some brides might choose to make a swift costume change for the reception, Luciana decided to take things one step further.
While her 200 guests and husband were enjoying their entree and bobbing along to music, Luciana snuck out to the bathroom of her bridal suite to give her long locks a solid chop.
“I was having kittens when she told me she wanted to cut her hair,” Luciana’s hairdresser Brooke Murray told news.com.au.
“If it didn’t go right, we were going to be in trouble.”
Not only did it go perfectly, Luciana told Brooke the 25-minute cut was the most “incredible” hairstyle she has ever had.
Luciana, who had to postpone her wedding due to Covid restrictions, previously sported a short bob, but over the past two years it grew out below her shoulders.
In a TikTok shared by the Essendon hairdresser, Luciana can be seen in the bathroom surrounded by her bridesmaids, photographer and videographer undergoing the bold new look.
The clip has gone viral, amassing six million views in just one week.
“I had to put my game face on and block out everyone around me,” Brooke told news.com.au.
And in just under half an hour, it was all over.
Brooke captioned the clip: “When your beautiful bride decides to go for the chop in the middle of her wedding reception.”
Footage then shows Luciana with her long hair, before Brooke begins to cut it just above her shoulders.
Her bridesmaids can be seen in the background, snapping away as Luciana undergoes the stunning new look.
Brooke styles Luciana’s hair with a hair straightener and completes the bob with a touch of hairspray.
“I was so happy with how it turned out,” Brooke told news.com.au.
“I told Luciana not to be surprised if she has to come back the next day for touch-ups. But she didn’t have to. She has been messaging me from her honeymoon (in the Maldives) telling me she can’t believe how incredible it turned out.”
Brooke’s clip has attracted hundreds of comments describing it as a “power move”.
“This is so iconic,” one TikTok user wrote.
“I cannot imagine how stunning the photos were to have both of these hairstyles on the real wedding day!” another said.
A third added: “That’s a lot of courage.”
With some asking how Luciana found the time to have this done during her reception, Brooke jumped into the comments section and explained the bride “ate during her haircut”.
“Her whole team had her covered.”
Admittedly, Brooke said she “felt the pressure” and while the “stress was intense”, she said doing it was “so fun”.
She then shared another TikTok of Luciana surprising James and her hundreds of guests with her new do.
It showed Luciana walking out to the dance floor where James had his back turned waiting to have their first dance.
“Everyone was obsessed,” Brooke said. “Her husband absolutely loved it and her guests’ reaction was priceless.”
