A popular $19 item has sold out online after many were “influenced” and “running” to the budget retailer over the product.

Kmart released its $19 Serving Platter with Ice Tray ahead of Christmas. The product keeps items cool with a compartment that can be filled with ice underneath a segmented serving tray.

Popular content creator @ohsobusymum_ took to TikTok to share her take on it.

“If you’re like me and hate the idea of platters sitting out in the heat with all the meat and cheese on it, you need to get this serving platter from Kmart,” she said.

The mum said she found the tray in the store’s party section. She praised its details pointing out the section in the middle for dips, and said she loved that each section had its own lid “to keep protected from flies”.

She said the ice tray did its job for over an hour in the Queensland heat and kept her food cool.

“Does it actually keep it cold even though the food isn’t touching the ice? I’m almost influenced,” one said.

Another added: “Kmart is sold out everywhereeeeee so I just ordered a version similar online from Big W but it doesn’t have as many compartments.”

“Had one of these from Kmart about 15 years ago. Glad they’ve made a come back,” another commented.

One added: “I miss Kmart when it was in Canada.”

“Not me running to Kmart,” one declared.

“I have a tupperware thing very similar to this, and I can confirm that it is a brilliant idea and everyone needs one,” one social media user added.

The product has proved to be so popular that it sold out online.

A Kmart spokesperson said it “instantly became a bestseller”.

“Our $19 Serving Platter with Ice Tray is the perfect companion for entertaining over the summer months,” a Kmart spokesperson told news.com.au.

“Launching just in time for Christmas, the tray has instantly become a bestseller of the season, with customers loving the low cost, easy and practical solution for enjoying summertime gatherings with friends and family.”
