WHEN Pippa Evans was born, she was a perfect rainbow after a storm.

When the Gold Coast Bulletin called for nominations for its 2020 Cutest Baby Competition, it was overwhelmed by miracle baby entries — rainbow babies born after miscarriages, stillbirths or neonatal death.

Mum Sonia Evans, 35, said five-month-old Pippa was an “indescribable blessing”.

“In December 2018, I was pregnant but at 13 weeks they couldn’t find a heartbeat during a scan,” she said. “It was a really emotional time.

“Luckily, I fell pregnant with Pippa six months later. It was a really hard until I had her in my arms because I was convinced something was going to go wrong again.

“Since she has been earth side, it has been incredible and she is a ray of sunshine.”

Other babies in our “Miracle Bub” category include Ella Mitchell, Lily Kratzer and Ryder Oar.
